Been looking at drawing digital stuff again while also planning a heavy redesign for a lot of my characters. One of which is a moon-head which I almost chose to scrap because I just couldn't make the moon shape look right on the character and also because it's difficult for an object-head character to not look so generic.

My new idea is to make a character that's more abstract/jumbled while also being convenient to animate if I ever start to try that. Name-wise, I might keep it as Tyrannee, but my brain really wants to call her Phonk for some reason...

(Sorry for the sudden inactivity, been having way too much fun with making Lua addons for Garry's mod)

Anyways, here's my collection of rare Gogos:iu_1283366_23071973.webp

So... I guess it's been a while since I've done one of these, so I guess I should explain why I've been gone for so long...

Firstly, I want to clear the air and say that it wasn't due to any personal issues, and I am perfectly fine. I've mainly just been enjoying a lot of hobbies that isn't art at the moment. Most of which is messing around with music and other audio endeavours, and I've ended up learning a lot more than I'd thought regarding compression, eq, and other stuff...

Furthermore, I've really just been enjoying time not being tethered to social media which has made me comfortable with the fact that I don't need to have a presence to feel validated. Since then, I've mainly slowed down on Twitter to work on myself as well as my hobbies.

Speaking of Twitter, due to the shakiness of it's longevity, I've been heavily considering directing my artistic attention to Newgrounds and start on a overhaul to one (and probably only) recognisable characters, that being Juno...

My plan was to commission a bunch of artists and use their takes on her design as inspiration. I'm only waiting on one, but I should definitely have enough to work off of.

Hopefully you'll be seeing me again soon, so until then, have a good one!

Making music is the ONE thing I've always wanted to do as a hobby and get good at, but it has been something that I've had distant phases with when it comes to motivation. Granted, this is probably because, despite my enthusiasm, I hadn't pursued it academically, so I'm essentially going in completely blind unlike my other hobbies...

It was this year that I've properly tried getting into it after being inspired by a guy called Levi Niha who's done a lot of cool mixes using sounds from games such as My Singing Monsters, Minecraft, and Incredibox. So, with some spare change, I decided to buy myself a decent DAW and started messing about with things I could see myself making in the future...

One of which specifically is a small chiptune I made 4+ years ago using a site called Jummbox. it was a VERY cringe attempt at trying to make a tune that could roughly fit into Minecraft, hence the title even being called England in reference to C418's Sweden...

I've recently been interested in completely remastering the track and giving it a more faithful likeness to older systems like the NES after being inspired by a lot of multi-chip Mega Man covers. I obviously won't go 100% with the restrictions, but I think it might be fun to de-make it someday...

I've always wanted to try out commissions again and buying commissions from artists far more talented than I am, but I can easily recall my first time trying out commission work being short-lived. 1. is because I felt bad for putting a price on skills that I didn't feel 100% confident in, and 2., I was very anxious talking online which also didn't help :/

Around 5-6 years ago when I first started getting into pixel art, I thought of doing the odd cheap commission as a good motivator to continue drawing/improving as well as getting a subtle bonus in return. As of late, I've been thinking of doing the same thing with digital art; A small thing on the side while I try to get better.

It would probably just be £5 or something for a sketch with a slot or two, but it might be a good thing to try out next month/year...

On a similar topic, I've encouraged myself to support artists and might decide to buy some commissions in the next few days, but I forget that I need to actually have decent-looking OCs, so donating will be my go-to for the time being.

As for those OCs, I'll see what I can come up with next week. I want to redesign Juno but keep on falling into the trap of drawing the same thing, and there's been a jester character that's been stuck in my mind for a while...

Been thinking of overhauling an OC of mine after basically drawing once and then completely struggling to draw her decently ever again. I was possibly considering refreshing her a bit in terms of design since the only thing I have atm is a dumb sketch...

The idea is a fictional mascot for a line of bubble-gum and other related candies. She's a magician/show-woman who loves the thrill of exotic entertainment. Beneath the costume, however, is a stone-cold and calculating actor who will stop at nothing to stay in the limelight...

While I attempt to be good at digital art, I was wondering if anybody had any interesting suggestions for her design?

After a few weeks of tedium, I have not only been able to tweak my microphone into something I'm at least proud of, but have also cured my issues of audio being too quiet due to YouTube's audio normalization. Today is truly a good day!

This now means I can finally start doing commentary and about time! I've been holding off on a video idea mainly due to motivation reasons, but now I can start proper! This does probably mean I might redo the 'script' from scratch because my opinions on the game have changed a little.

At the very least, I can continue knowing that I will eventually be able to get rid of 17 hours worth of Mario Kart footage (even if I realised less than 20 minutes will actually be used :/ )

Garry's mod is probably one of my favourite games (judging by the 750.5 hours of playtime, most of which was single-player) and I've always been interested in making my own stuff. So, I have recently decided to start messing around with lua by making random game modes...

Currently making a knock-off of prop hunt for playing with friends and currently testing the round system. The amount/pool of what props can be picked will be randomized from the start of each round and you're able to set how many are able to spawn...

For context, I've been excited to make a small commentary video on a Mario Kart game, but I cannot for the life of me get the audio levels right. It's mainly because my ears are a little sensitive and I get constantly paranoid about things being too loud.

I've recently learnt that YouTube manipulates the volume of your video behind the scenes to accommodate for a different measurement of volume (not db), which is probably why my audio was much lower than it should've been...

So, umm... Hi!!

I'm fairly new to this whole Newgrounds thing asides from maybe experiencing the odd flash game/animation or two on this site eons ago, so I thought why not try something different for a change and make myself a Newgrounds account...
